Haworthia heidelbergensis - G.G. Smith,

The name Haworthia heidelbergensis is probably best applied to the medium-small semi-retuse Haworthia from around Heidelberg. The plants grow either solitary or in clumps.

There are numerous localities of related plants of different size that probably grade into Haworthia subretusa as well as Haworthia retusa.

One author has also temporarily associated this species with Haworthia mirabilis. One could make an association perhaps with the fairly lanceolate leaves and also the flowering time which corresponds to Haworthia mirabilis/magnifica but mostly it seems closer to the Retusa aggregate.

I include here images taken by Gerhard Marx from east of Heidelberg by his collection data known as GM 689.
